Finding your future luxury SUV can be difficult with all of the various choices you have. Thankfully, there are some SUVs that are more popular than others, which can narrow down your search. Then, you can compare these more popular SUVs to further diminish the list of potential SUVs, until you are left with only a couple. The 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV is one of the luxury SUVs that you may find yourself comparing to other models, and so today we compare it with one of its stronger competitors; the 2019 Cadillac XT5.
For the purpose of this comparison, we are going to be looking at the lowest trim of the GLE. That means that you’ll be seeing the specs and features of the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 4MATIC®*. We’ll be comparing this to the lowest Cadillac XT5 trim; Standard. Let’s take a look at what these two vehicles can bring to your drive.
2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 4MATIC®* |
Vs |
2019 Cadillac XT5 |
---|---|---|
329 hp / 329 lb.-ft. | Horsepower/Torque | 310 hp / 271 lb.-ft. |
80.3 cu. ft. | Max Cargo Space | 63.0 cu. ft. |
Optional | Active Parking Assist | N/A |
Standard | Automatic Seatbelt Tightening | N/A |
As you can see in the table above, there are many perks that come from driving a 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV. First off, you’ll have more power in the GLE 400 4MATIC®*. Not to say that the Cadillac XT5 is lacking or inferior, since it does have quite a bit of power on its own. However, the GLE simply has more. So, if you are looking for a powerful and quick vehicle, then you might want to consider the GLE 400 4MATIC®* over the XT5.
You’ll also have more cargo space in the Mercedes-Benz GLE. With its 80.3 max cargo space, you can haul a lot of gear in the GLE.
Likewise, the Mercedes-Benz GLE has more standard and available safety features. While you cannot get Active Parking Assist on the lowest trim of the XT5, it is an optional feature for the GLE. You’ll also have the PRESAFE®** system standard on the GLE. This safety system automatically tightens the seatbelts, closes the windows and sunroof, and adjusts the passenger seat when it senses a possible collision. This is a safety feature that you cannot get on the Cadillac XT5, but is something that you’ll find standard on many of the Mercedes-Benz models.
