2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV vs Coupe

Should you get the SUV or Coupe version of the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE? This model is popular with many drivers, but it can be difficult to know which body style you should get. Well, we can’t tell you which one you’d like more, but we can tell you some of the differences between the two so that you can decide which one suits you best.

For the purpose of this comparison, we will be taking a look at the trim options you can expect to see on these two vehicles, as well as some of the styling and dimensions that are available for the GLE SUV and GLE Coupe. Features of the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE

You’ll only have two trim options for the GLE Coupe, which may not be a bad thing if you were already interested in the AMG® 43 or AMG® 63 of both body styles. However, if you were interested in a different trim, then the GLE SUV would be the way to go. It has not only the ‘regular’ trims, but it also has plug-in hybrid version as well.

You’ll have a bit more ground clearance in the Coupe version, however they are both capable of towing the same amount of weight. This towing number was taken from the AMG® 43 trim of both the SUV and Coupe versions of the GLE, so if you are looking at a different trim, you may want to double check just to be sure of the towing capacity.

As you might expect, the cargo space is where the differences truly start. The 2019 GLE SUV has a cargo space of 38.2 cubic feet when the second-row seats are up, and 80.3 cu. ft. when you fold them down. This is drastically more space than the 2019 GLE Coupe, which has 23 cu. ft. with the seats up, and 60.7 cu. ft. with the seats down. So, if you are looking for a powerful vehicle that has an admirable towing capacity and is a bit taller, you might want to go with the GLE Coupe. However, if you want something more spacious and with more variety, then you might want to go with the SUV.
