Going strong for more than 35 years, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz G-Class release date is less than a month away. The G-Class is arguably one of the most fascinating vehicles in the world. Not because of its advanced technologies or extreme reliability, but because of the way it has retained popularity for so long without undergoing any redesigns. Sure, it shows off a new bumper here and there, and updates are often used to differentiate between model years, but would you just look at it? Mercedes-Benz is selling the same car it was in the 1970s and it is more popular than ever. Conclusion: the G-Class is perfect. Read on for a 2016 G-Class preview.

The most exciting part about the 2016 G-Class release is the introduction of the G65 AMG. The G63 remains in the lineup, but it is no longer the top dog. The G65 features a V12 biturbo engine that produces 621 horsepower and 738 pounds of torque. This engine will throw the G-Class from a dead stop to sixty miles per hour in just 5.3 seconds. If you think this is unnecessary, it’s because you haven’t experienced it.
The 2016 G-Class will be available for us Americans in November. It is one of the most expensive Mercedes-Benz vehicles, but keep in mind that it is the only SUV in its class to combine the electronic traction system with a transfer case and three differential locks. If you are interested in learning more about the G-Class, leave a question in the comments or contact us at Mercedes-Benz of Scottsdale. Again, it will go on sale next month so we’ll see you then!
