Back in 1955, Mercedes-Benz participated in a race that it did not expect to win. It was called the Mille Miglia and it is historically one of the most enduring long distance races in the history of automobile racing. To celebrate 60 years of the SL-Class and commemorate this underdog win, the 2016 Mille Miglia 417 SL-Class is born. The 417 represents the number that the iconic roadster wore in that fateful race in 1955 when it crossed the finish line at 4:17 am.
New Release: 2017 S-Class Cabriolet
This race sparked a fire inside auto enthusiasts everywhere because the SL-Class managed to not only beat all others in its class, but it also crossed the finish line before numerous race cars. What is even more impressive is that the 2nd and 3rd place drivers were also driving SL-Class Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles. From that day on, the SL-Class has been one of the most appreciated Mercedes-Benz vehicles to hit the road.
As you can see from the photos, the Mercedes-Benz resembles the Batmobile. It will feature designo night black magno matte paint on the outside with bold red accents and midnight black rims, provided by AMG, measuring 19 inches in the front and 20 inches in the back.
The stylish interior will likely be the attraction of most buyers. The black and red theme will be the main focus of the hand-crafted seats with contrasting inlays and red edging. A unique SL Mille Miglia label will also be found throughout the inside of the iconic roadster.
