The E-Class station wagon has been a part of the E-Class lineup since the model’s birthday in 1993. Now, Five generations later, we are looking at a brand new E-Class for 2017 with a new trim designation, more cargo room, more power, and more gears. The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E400 4MATIC Wagon release date is coming up in about six months. Could it bring back the popularity of the station wagon that got lost in the 70s with tie dye and suede? We think it is a definite possibility.
What does the E in E-Class stand for?
It will be different for drivers to complain about the exterior look of the E-Class Wagon. With less aggressive curves and a vertical stretch, the new E-Class looks unique and progressive without sacrificing the traditional look of the E-Class Wagon that drivers have grown to love over the last 15 years. On the inside, new leather upholstery makes the E-Class look more like the S-Class with a big butt. The rear seats fold down, of course, to maximize cargo area and blind spots have been minimized with a new window style.
Much of the 2017 E-Class can be customized to meet the needs and wants of any driver. Sure, the new seats are more comfortable than those in the 2016 model, but what really makes the E-Class such a rock star is the personalization of the dashboard and ambient lights. Behind the steering wheel, the 12.3-inch screen can be switched from Classic to Sport to Progressive display styles, and the ambient lights can be filtered through 64 different colors!
The E400 4MATIC experience pulverizes that of the E350 into a pulp. Where the E350 had a 3.5L V6 engine in it, the E400 features a 3.0L Biturbo V6 that produces 329 horsepower, 30 more than the E350. Obviously 30 horsepower isn’t a huge difference, but the new engine is also able to produce 80 more lb-ft of torque than its predecessor, which should be more than enough to feel a power difference.
Mercedes-Benz has publicly stated that the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E400 4MATIC Wagon release date in the United States will occur early in 2017. This means it will likely be delivered to dealerships across the nation by March, 2017. If you have any questions about the new wagon, leave a comment below!
