The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is one of the most versatile Mercedes-Benz models in history. It exists in so many different shapes and forms. To name a few, there is a sedan, coupe, cabriolet, wagon, hybrid, and it can even be found as a GLE Coupe. Well, it seems Mercedes-Benz isn’t done stretching the E-Class as far as it can go. The next E-Class release will be the 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class All Terrain and we have some spy pictures about a year ahead of the release date.
The point of the E-Class All Terrain is mobility when the sidewalk ends. The E-Class is not known for its ability to leave the road, which makes this a tricky introduction. What actually sets it apart from the E-Class Estate Wagon is a new suspension setup. Though it still uses AIRMATIC technology, this suspension will be unique to the E-Class All Terrain. Unfortunately, there isn’t really any more information available than that quite yet. It will definitively feature DYNAMIC SELECT driving modes, so we expect to see an Off-Road+ mode available.
Because it will be the same body, the E-Class All Terrain Wagon will feature the same engine options that you will find in the E-Class Sedan or coupe. This means we are looking at a 2.0L turbocharged inline 4, a 3.5L V6, and eventually a 5.5L V8 in the Mercedes-AMG E63 S All Terrain Wagon.
Unfortunately for us, it does not look like we will get the 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class All Terrain Wagon in the United States. It will be made to compete with the Audi A6 Allroad, which has never been available over here. Still, if we show enough excitement, maybe Mercedes-Benz will rethink the release. If you have any questions about the new 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class All Terrain, you know what to do!
