2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Release Date and Facelift

The redesigned 2018 S-Class Coupe and Cabriolet made their world premiere at the 2017 Frankfurt International Auto Show with the same extensive innovations that were introduced on the sedan configuration. Among the updates are extended driver assistance systems, a new Widescreen Cockpit, a new steering wheel, and the latest infotainment and comfort systems. Interior and Exterior Redesign

The redesigned S-Class Coupe exudes sporty sophistication, featuring a front bumper with a chrome-plated front splitter and voluminous air inlets. The new look is enhanced by restyled side skirts and chrome-plated twin tailpipe trims. The coupe also features new OLED taillamps, which uses organic light emitting diode technology to emit a consistent light pattern in all directions and form a unique day and night design. The taillamps also feature different levels of intensity for brake lamps and turn signal indicators.
A refreshed interior offers three new trim lines—High-Gloss Brown Burl Walnut, Satin-finish Ash Grey, and designo magnolia flowing lines—and one new upholstery offering—designo Exclusive Nappa leather Porcelain/Tizian Red. The cabin is characterized by the two new high-resolution displays that blend into a Widescreen Cockpit with three appearance styles—Classic, Sporty, and Progressive. The new-generation steering wheel features Touch Control buttons that respond to swiping motions like a smartphone.

Infotainment and Comfort

The new S-Class Coupe is equipped with the latest-generation infotainment system COMAND® Navigation, featuring topographical map display, photo-realistic 3D buildings, and 3D map rotations. The Near Field Communication system marks a new era in connectivity by transforming the smartphone into a digital vehicle key. The system also enables wireless charging of compatible smartphones via a charging pad at the front of the center console.
A new ENERGIZING Comfort feature links various comfort features such as climate control, ambient lighting, massage, and aromatherapy and allows drivers to create a specific setup for enhance their mood and comfort-level behind the wheel. Up to six comfort features are available: freshness, warmth, vitality, joy, comfort, and training.

The redesigned 2018 S-Class Coupe will be available for sale in the U.S. in mid-2018.
