Mercedes-Benz always has exciting announcements and even more exciting models on the horizon. One of the latest announcements out of the German auto manufacturer is that the Mercedes-AMG® SL is coming back with a 2022 model year. In celebration, Mercedes-Benz of Scottsdale is going to go over all the 2022 Mercedes-AMG® SL performance specs that we know so far. Before we dive into engine specifics, first you’ll want to know what trim levels there are. In all, there are two trim levels. The first trim is the SL 55 and above that, you get the SL 63. Following standard Mercedes-AMG® naming convention, the higher number gets the higher output engine, and you will see that on display below.
The SL 55 comes equipped with a handcrafted AMG® 4.0-liter biturbo powerplant. This engine is capable of outputting up to 469 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. This allows it to get an estimated 0-60 mph time of just 3.8 seconds.

If you go for the SL 63, then you get an enhanced version of the same engine that can deliver an impressive 577 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. With that extra power, the SL 63 can reach 0-60 mph in an estimated 3.5 seconds.
How fast is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLS?
Regardless of engine choice, the power is routed through an AMG® SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G 9-speed transmission and it indeed can go down to all four wheels via the standard AMG® 4MATIC+® all-wheel-drive system. This system is fully variable allowing for different amounts of power to be distributed between the front and rear axles.
