What Is Remote Parking Assist and How Does It Work?

Remote Parking Assist builds on Active Parking Assist, adding the ability to park or unpark your GLE while you’re outside the vehicle. You can control the process using your mobile phone, letting the system handle the steering, braking, and acceleration. Although it’s a handy feature, the responsibility for ensuring a clear and safe parking area rests with you. Before you begin, make sure your vehicle’s Remote Parking Assist service is activated via the Mercedes Me app, and authorize your phone with the app. This system also requires compliance with local traffic laws, and you should never use it when steering into a curb.

Getting Started with Remote Parking Assist

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to use the Remote Parking Assist feature in the 2025 GLE:

Step 1: While inside the vehicle, stop and shift to “P.” Press the “P” button and select “Parking Assistance” from the menu. You can then exit the vehicle and continue the process remotely.

Step 2: Once you’ve exited the GLE, unlock it and keep the key with you. Then, open the Remote Parking Assist app on your phone and connect to the vehicle.

Step 3: The app will guide you through the parking or unparking process. It will also manage steering, braking, and acceleration while activating turn signals during the procedure.

Always pay attention to your surroundings and ensure that no people, animals, or obstacles are in the vehicle’s path. If the system encounters a limit or issue, the parking process will stop, the vehicle will engage “P,” and a message will appear on your phone. You can cancel the parking process anytime via the app, the key, or by pulling a door handle.
