IIHS Rating

The GLC SUV received “good” ratings in a series of five crashworthiness tests, including moderate overlap front, side, small overlap front, head restraints testing, and roof strength. In the event of a collision, the GLC SUV offers extra security with multiple airbags and three-point safety belts featuring belt-force limitation and belt tensioning and the driver, front passenger, and rear outer passengers.

The GLC SUV also received a “superior” rating for front crash prevention with the standard COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS system, passing IIHS collision testing at both 12 mph and 25 mph. The optional static and dynamic LED headlights also received accolades from the IIHS. The GLC SUV joins the 2017 GLE SUV and the 2017 E-Class Sedan as an IIHS Top Safety PICK+.
