Ways to Keep Your Car Cool in Arizona

Being located here in Arizona, we know a thing or two about heat. We love enjoying time outside, but the sun can cause a few issues when it comes to comfort levels. Some days it’s just too hot, especially when you have to go from a nice air conditioned building into a car that’s been sitting in the sun all day. Today we’re going to help with some tips for keeping your car cool here in Arizona even when the temperatures outside are at their highest.

Tips for Keeping You Car Cool this Summer

  • Find Shade – When possible, it is a good idea to find some shade to park your car in. This will keep your vehicle nice and cool.
  • Cover the Windows – Another easy thing you can do is cover your windows. You can invest in some shade covers or make your own using cardboard. This will help block the sun and keep your car’s interior cooler.
  • Move It – If you have time, it can help to move your car throughout the day to make sure it is always in the shade and to cool it down once in awhile by turning on the AC. This can make a huge difference rather just letting your car sit for hours on end in the sun.
  • Turn It Around – If possible park your car so the rear of your vehicle is facing the sun. This can help keep the steering wheel or driver’s seat from overheating.
  • Keep Blankets/Towels in Your Car – It might not be the most stylish thing ever, but by keeping blankets in your car, you can cover the seat to make them cool enough to sit on right away.
  • Invest in Vehicle with Cooling Features – Another great way to stay cool is by investing in a vehicle that comes with cooling features, like ventilated seats or remote start. Many Mercedes-Benz models come standard with both of these options so you can make sure your car is cool before even opening the door
