Design and Features

The new AMG® Performance Steering Wheel blends seamless ergonomics with ultimate functionality. The new steering wheel boasts a stylish, sporty design with a flat bottom, a heavily contoured rim, and a perforated grip area. The steering wheel comes standard in Nappa leather in most models, with some models offering color variants. The galvanized steering wheel-mounted gearshift paddles create an even sportier driving experience while driving in manual mode.

The new AMG® steering wheel was also designed to reduce driver distraction with functions enabling the driver to control the entire infotainment system without having to take their hands off the steering wheel. Various functions on the steering wheel are combined in groups and can be intuitively controlled via the new Touch Control Buttons. The buttons can be used to control the instrument cluster and the multimedia system by horizontal and vertical finger swiping movements similar to how smartphone screens are controlled.

Optional features can also be added to the new steering wheel including two color display buttons under the left-hand steering-wheel spoke or a round controller with a display beneath the right-hand steering-wheel spoke. The controller also offers direct access to the AMG drive programs displayed on the LCD screen integrated in the controller.
