Driver-Assist Technologies of the 2020 GLE

We’ve briefly mentioned the driver-assist technologies in the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE, and now it’s time to get a bit more in-depth with it. Take a look below to find out which driver-assist technologies can help when you find yourself in a jam.

Active Stop-And-Go Assist: this is an exciting addition to the driver-assist technologies of the GLE. When you are in a traffic jam, you’ll find this driver-assist technology help you concentrate in the monotony of stop-and-go traffic when it comes to staying in your lane and not getting too close to the vehicle ahead of you.

Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC®: this feature can potentially help you avoid a collision by detecting heavier traffic ahead of you that is either slow-moving or stopped altogether. Then, it reduces the speed of your vehicle to about 60 miles per hour, which can potentially help you stop more quickly.

Active Brake Assist with Cross-Traffic Function: if you find yourself needing to slam on the brakes when you hit a traffic jam, this driver-assist feature makes the brakes more responsive and helps your vehicle stop faster. The Cross-Traffic Function is a feature that helps when you are attempting to switch lanes in heavy traffic.

Active Steering Assist: as you might determine from the name, this feature helps you keep in your lane by helping you steer.

Active Blind Spot Assist w/ Exit Warning Assist: this feature keeps an eye on your blind spots when your vehicle is stationary, and can potentially help you avoid running into pedestrians, cyclists, or other objects when you open your door by alerting you when there is something in your blind spot. This feature lasts for up to 3 minutes after you turn your vehicle off.
