2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE Truck of the Year
Every year, all the new and redesigned cars and trucks compete for the title of car or truck of the year. Last year, the Ford F-150 and the Volkswagen Golf rolled away victorious. This year, The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE, GLC, and the Metris have all made the list of nominees. Right now, including the three Mercedes-Benz, there are 21 trucks competing for the top spot. The GLE is a completely new model based off the M-Class that it is replacing and is going on sale later this year.

In the upcoming months, the list of 21 trucks will be narrowed down to 10. In December, the number remaining will be three, and then the winners will be announced at the Detroit Auto Show in January. The winners are decided by a panel of 57 automotive journalists who are granted a certain amount of points to distribute as they please. The car and truck with the most points at the end, becomes a North American Car or Truck of the Year (NACTOY).
The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE truck of the year candidate is an extremely advanced SUV. It comes with such available features as Dynamic Select driving modes, COMAND navigation, and smartphone compatibility. It is available with over 500 horsepower and comes standard in the U.S. with the automatic 7-speed transmission that Mercedes-Benz is known for. There are many similarities to the outgoing M-Class but there are also significant changes that make the GLE an all-around better SUV.
Winning this award would be huge for Mercedes-Benz. A lot of work was put into refining its SUV lineup and a win here would be proof that it paid off. The GLE will be available before 2015 is over and it is expected to be wildly popular, win or lose. If you would like to learn more about the GLE, visit Mercedes-Benz of Scottsdale.
