Mercedes-Benz CLA United States Introduction
If you’re new to the Mercedes-Benz game, you may not realize that the Mercedes-Benz CLA is actually only three years old. With so many classic and iconic cars under the Mercedes-Benz belt, it may be hard to believe that the CLA was an instant classic before the first one was even built, but wait until you hear about the Mercedes-Benz CLA United States introduction.

The American Mercedes-Benz
The CLA was the first compact Mercedes-Benz to be marketed in the United States. Of course, Mercedes-Benz was way ahead of us with compact cars for many years, but it didn’t think the United States wanted in on the action until 2013. Of course, Mercedes-Benz roadsters are somewhat compact, but they are high-performance machines and do not fall under the compact car category. Because of this, the CLA made history by obtaining the majority of its sales in the US.
How has the Style Rebel changed?
Since its debut as the Style Rebel in 2013, the CLA hasn’t seen many changes. Horsepower has increased by 20, new wheels and trims usually show up every year, and it just got a new facelift for 2017. Because of this, buying a used CLA could mean a five-figure difference in price from a C-Class or E-Class without a loss in performance or comfort. The price did go up a few thousand dollars, but that is expected. We bet you can’t tell the difference between these pictures for the 2014 and 2017 models!
Where is the Mercedes-Benz CLA made?
If you guessed the United States, you’re way off. Germany? Still wrong. The CLA is actually built in Hungary. Thanks to the huge success of the entry-level compact car, Mercedes-Benz has already sold more than half a million of these bad boys across the world. The only other car built at this plant is the Mercedes-Benz B-Class, which is not something you can get in the United States.
Mercedes-AMG CLA45 Biturbo Engine
The 2.0L engine in the CLA is also something Mercedes-Benz is proud of. Based on the V8 engine in the GT, Mercedes-Benz is able to crank 375 horsepower out of the little 4-cylinder engine. Because of this, it has won the Engine of the Year award two years in a row for 2014 and 2015. If you have a question about America’s Mercedes-Benz, let’s see it!
