The 2017 Mercedes-AMG E43 will be released at the New York International Auto Show on March 25 and will go on sale in America in the spring of 2017. Here is how it packs the benefits of every 2017 E-Class into one comfortable monster.

Goodbye E400
The E43 will be replacing the E400 as the middle child of the E-Class family. In between the E350 and the AMG E63, the AMG E43 offers as much performance as possible without sacrificing any comfort, and we mean any comfort. Slapping an AMG badge on the E400 is probably one of the best things that could have happened for the E-Class right now.
3.0L Biturbo V6
You didn’t expect Mercedes-Benz not to up the horsepower game, did you? The new engine produces 396 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque. That is 67 more ponies than its predecessor and gets paired with a 9-speed transmission instead of the clunky 7-speed of the past. This combination will launch the 4,145-pound beast from 0 to 60 in just 4.5 seconds. It is still limited at 155 MPH top speed but it doesn’t take as long to get there, and it is more comfortable than ever before.
AMG E43 at New York International Auto Show 2016
Later this month, Mercedes-Benz will be unveiling the new E-Class at NYIAS. What else will Mercedes-Benz be up to at the show? You can count on seeing the new C-Class Cabriolet and the new S-Class Cabriolet. The S-Class hasn’t had a cabriolet body style since the 1960s and the C-Class has never had a cabriolet option, making NYIAS a pretty big deal for Mercedes-Benz.
