2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe Unveiled
After a year of wondering whether Mercedes-Benz forgot about the E-Class, we finally get a glimpse of the new coupe. We already know that it will be released next summer after being unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January, but we were still waiting on the specifications… until now.
The Most Powerful E-Class Of All Time
New E-Class Coupe Design
For 2017, the E-Class Sedan was brought up to speed with the future. It had us in awe with its new giant infotainment screen and burned a hole in our pocket when DRIVE PILOT was presented, but we were left scratching our heads when the 2017 E-Class Coupe was the exact same as the 2016 model. Was it a rip off? No, Mercedes-Benz just needed a little extra time to get the new design to work on the E-Class Coupe.
Sedan VS Coupe
For the most part, the E-Class Coupe will be identical to the E-Class Sedan. Some of the minor differences, besides the number of doors, is the exterior size. The E-Class Coupe will be almost 4 inches shorter than the E-Class Sedan. It will also be slightly wider and shorter than the E-Class Sedan, consistent with years past. For 2018, however, the coupe itself has grown.
2018 VS 2017
From last year, the E-Class Coupe has grown 4.8 inches in length, 2.9 inches in width, 1.3 inches in height, and 4.4 inches at the wheelbase. As you can see, this is a fairly significant change from the previous year. It means better traction and more interior room, but it also means more weight and less efficiency.
