State Parks & Hiking
Tom’s Thumb Trail: you can find this trailhead at 23015 N 128th St, Scottsdale. This trail is part of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.
McDowell Mountains: another place in McDowell Sonoran Preserve. But since you’ll already be there for Tom’s Thumb Trail, you might as well just take a look around!
Piestewa Peak: you can find the trailhead on 2701 E Squaw Peak Dr, in Phoenix. The trail is more strenuous, but the view at the top is incredibly rewarding.
Papago Park: This park has plenty of great hiking locations, as well as the popular Hole-In-The-Rock location, though you’ll probably find yourself sharing that particular location with lots of other photo-enthusiasts.

Buildings & Resorts
Taliesin West: 12621 N Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd (at E Cactus Rd), Scottsdale. One of Frank Lloyd Wright’s home, and now it is a great place to hear some fun history facts and look at wonderful sights.
Sassi: 10455 E Pinnacle Peak Pkwy, Scottsdale. Dinner and an amazing view can make for a fantastic night.
CopperWynd Resort and Club: 13225 N Eagle Ridge Dr, Scottsdale, AZ. Reported to have a beautiful sunset view of the city; make sure you get a table on the veranda.
The Phoenician: 6000 E Camelback Rd, Scottsdale, AZ. With beautiful views and plenty of activities, this is a good area for anyone looking for a day of photography and fun.
