What does the Vision Mercedes-Maybach concept model look like?
Mercedes-Benz presented the Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury at Auto China 2018 in Beijing. The crossover’s design draws inspiration from an exclusive, high-end sedan and an SUV, combining the comfort and strengths of both body styles. The Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury is imagined as an electric vehicle with four compact motors and fully variable all-wheel drive. Mercedes-Maybach just teased its second new vehicle in in three months. First, we were introduced, quite unexpectedly, to the 2019 Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 with gullwing doors and an electric motor that could rip the moon in half. This car will probably never make it to production, but that isn’t the case for the newest reveal, the 2018 Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet. Mercedes-Benz has a very complicated history that involves a lot of collaboration and a lot of name changes. Even today, the company is trigger-happy on changing names. For example, the GLK-Class just became the GLC, the GL-Class is turning into the GLS, and the M-Class is dead to the GLE. To figure out where all this nonsense comes from, we travel all the way back to 1902 when Mercedes-Benz received its first name change. If you are already a Mercedes-Benz enthusiast, you are probably familiar with names like Daimler, Benz, and Maybach, but where did the name Mercedes come from?
