Way back in 1998, when an alternative energy was just a dream, smart brought the smart car to market. It was one of the first of its kind, especially in the United States, where it survived Y2K and helped fuel the fire that would become the great hybrid anxiety of the 2000s. We may be jumping the gun a little bit, but certain German publications are calling Mercedes-Benz out for mentioning a long term goal of creating a separate brand for electric vehicles. One of the most exciting new features of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, besides the autonomous driving capabilities, is the large amount of space taken up by LCD screens. In the front, two 12.3-inch screens dominate the dashboard. One behind the steering wheel for the instrument cluster and one right in the center for navigation, music, and adjusting entertainment settings.
