The prestigious award was presented to the GT R at the 2018 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance on March 10th, 2018. After days of testing sports cars both on the road and the racetrack, the AUTOMOBILE editorial staff selected the 2018 Mercedes-AMG® GT R as an AUTOMOBILE All-Stars winner. Top Speed and Horsepower Specs
Engineered with pioneering technologies, the AMG® GT R as designed with the racetrack in the mind. The coupe’s exhilarating, straight line performance is a result of intelligent lightweight construction, a handcrafted AMG® 4.0L V8 biturbo engine, and a specifically-adapted seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Other track performance enhancements include an adjustable coilover suspension, active rear-wheel steering, a 9-way adjustable AMG® TRACTION CONTROL system, and an electronic limited-slip differential.
The 2018 Mercedes-AMG® GT R delivers an incredible 577 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque with a top speed of 198 mph. The sports coupe accelerates from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and boasts a 7:10.9 lap at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
