Mercedes-Benz Electric Drive Brand United States Release Date
We may be jumping the gun a little bit, but certain German publications are calling Mercedes-Benz out for mentioning a long term goal of creating a separate brand for electric vehicles. Right now, Mercedes-Benz offers a few all electric vehicles such as the B-Class and the A-Class, but they are not available in the United States. There is also an electric option for the new GLE SUV, but again, it isn’t available in the United States. Will a Mercedes-Benz all-electric brand make it to the United States of America?

Electric Research
Mercedes-Benz, like most other automotive companies, is putting a lot of money and effort into electric research. Not only in cars, but also for supplying energy to homes and communities. Although most of it is under wraps, Mercedes-Benz will likely expand this research in the next four years to eventually build separate factories for its electric vehicles.
Electric Performance
Electric and hybrid applications are already being used heavily on the race track at Mercedes-Benz. In 2014, the company released an SLS AMG Coupe Electric Drive Production Car. It is basically as fast, if not faster than the gasoline version, but lacks the range. Still, it is obvious that Mercedes-Benz is close to to something big.
American Availability
Right now, we aren’t expecting this to be a reality for Americans. Not in the next five years at least, but it might be too early to tell. The U.S. may have caught up to the rest of the world by then, but to be realistic, we are thinking more like 2025. What do you think about the electric revolution? Will you jump on the lithium-ion bandwagon or will you hold on to your V8 as long as possible? Let us know what you think!
