Mercedes-Benz Super Car
Although MBUSA might not share the same view as us, Mercedes-Benz is a luxury car company before anything else. As an overall theme throughout the brand, luxury comes before performance, efficiency, and style. Of course, these are all bi-products of luxury, but it seems that the most important thing to remember when making a Mercedes-Benz is that the cockpit is at least five years ahead of competing brands in terms of comfort and material. This is great for daily commutes, but Mercedes-Benz also has a big hand in the racing community. Why then Isn’t there a true Mercedes-Benz super car?

Super Car
Super used to be a designation reserved for cars that have more than 500 horsepower. Since this is no longer a feat worth celebrating (debatable), super car now refers to any car that is unusual and high-end. In the Mercedes-Benz lineup, you can get any car with more than 500 horsepower, starting with the C-Class and ending with the G-Class, which doesn’t have a model less than 500 horsepower.

Lamborghinis and Ferraris typically have about 600 to 700 horsepower. The 2017 Mercedes-AMG GT S falls short of 500 horsepower and despite its world-class drivability, it is no where near the Ferrari 458 Speciale or the 488 Spider. Mercedes-Benz has not yet made a statement on the matter, but rumors are floating around that the German manufacturer may have the intent to attack the Italians with a Ferrari-fighting Mercedes-Benz. If you want to be the first to know the inside scoop on the project, keep reading our blog! What do you think? Would pass up the chance to own a Ferrari if Mercedes-Benz made a better super car? Obviously we would!
