Most drivers agree that there is a distinct scent that comes with a new car. Many have tried to replicate it using air fresheners or sprays, but it’s hard to figure out exactly what that smell is. Today we’re going to help by taking a closer look at what a new Mercedes-Benz vehicle smells like.
Do Mercedes-Benz vehicles really smell like crayons?
There has been some discussion in that past that the interior of some Mercedes-Benz models smell like crayons, but that is no longer the case. Now many Mercedes-Benz models including the GLC actually come with an optional fragrance system. When you opt for this feature, your Mercedes-Benz will come with a LED-backlit vial in the glovebox and its own ductwork with an available fragrance atomizer. This isn’t offered by any other automotive brands.
Mercedes-Benz Fragrance Replacements
There are a few distinctive yet subtle aromas to choose from, but they don’t linger or stay on your clothes. It creates a pleasant scent to keep your car smelling brand new. Once the vial is empty, you can easily replace it. Mercedes-Benz offers four scents to choose from including Freeside Mood (light citrus), Nightlife Mood (spice), Downtown Mood (floral, musk) and Sport Mood (green, citrus). Every scent was created to pair well with the leathery smell of a new Mercedes-Benz. Each vial should last a few months before it needs to be replaced, which can be done at Mercedes-Benz dealerships or ordered online.
