Standard Safety Features
The 2019 Mercedes-Benz G-Class will offer the following safety features as standard equipment on its base trim level:
- 4MATIC®** all-wheel drive (40/60 fixed torque distribution) – Enables the G-Class to provide the most traction and control possible while driving in rough weather or driving across tough terrains.
- PRE-SAFE®* System – Senses an imminent collision and takes various safety precautious to best protect the vehicle’s occupants.
- Traffic Sign Assist – Uses radar and sensors to read stop signs and respond if drivers fail to do so.
- ATTENTION ASSIST® – Monitors driving habits to recognize signs of fatigue and alerts the driver to take a break.
- Active Lane Keeping Assist – Uses radar and sensors to detect lane lines and keep the vehicle in its intended lane.
- Active Brake Assist – Uses radar and sensors to detect vehicles and pedestrians in front of the vehicle and stop it if necessary.
*PRE-SAFE® closes the side windows when the system’s sensors detect side movements that suggest a possible rollover. A small gap is left near the fully closed position. Seat and head restraints adjust only when equipped with memory system.
