What is Mercedes-Benz RACETIMER (™)?
One of the things Mercedes-Benz does best is giving customers features that are likely never to get used. In many circumstances, you might have your Mercedes-Benz for 10 years but you will only be aware of 90 percent of its functionality. Mercedes-Benz RACETIMER (™) is one of these features. What is it?
Mercedes-Benz RACETIMER (™) is a stopwatch function that is available in Mercedes-AMG vehicles. Starting from zero and working its way up to infinity, the timer will help you keep track of lap times, 0-60 times, and drag race durations. Of course, all of these are the same thing, but it just goes to show how much attention to detail Mercedes-Benz puts in its cars. Its features are buried so deep, sometimes you only find out about them after you read about them online!
Lap Timer
Timing a quarter-mile drag doesn’t really make sense because Mercedes-AMG cars are all automatic and rely heavily on its internal computer to make sure it launches and accelerates exactly the same every time. For this, you should be able to Google your quarter-mile time. Likewise, measuring 0-60 is obsolete as well unless you are troubleshooting a mechanical problem. That leaves us with lap time. The lap function is probably the most practical function of the Mercedes-Benz RACETIMER (™). When you cross the finish line, hit the lap button to store your time and start again at zero. With this, you will know whether you are improving or losing at the track.
How To Use
To engage the Mercedes-Benz RACETIMER (™), you must use the buttons on the steering wheel. Filter through the functions until L1 pops up on the screen. Then hit enter to start your first lap. If you have any questions about Mercedes-Benz RACETIMER (™), leave a comment below!
