- Sugar Plum Avenue – December 16, Downtown Scottsdale
On Saturday, December 16, get downtown for some free holiday fun! The 5th Avenue Shopping district transforms into Sugar Plum Avenue featuring holiday entertainment, art, decor and so much more. The Nutcracker ballet is performed every hour. Sugar Plum Avenue also features additional live entertainment, including aerial performers and costumed performers available for photos. There are tons of activities events and attractions for kids, as well, including carriage rides, bounce houses, face painting, balloons and more. For those looking for the perfect getaway this Christmas season, you don’t have to look much further than Scottsdale! The award-winning Fairmont Scottsdale Princess has been transformed into a holiday-themed wonderland for their eighth-annual Christmas festival! The resort features tons of great holiday feature and fun, including the 6,000 square foot Desert Ice Skating Rink, the new Build-A-Bear Workshop, LED Christmas tree light show featuring HD video and more, Santa’s Secret Headquarters, Copper Canyon Christmas Village Light Show and so much more! On Saturday, December 16 from 8:30 a.m. until 12 p.m., the whole family will have a chance to have breakfast with Santa Claus! The event features two separate breakfast seatings: one at 8:30 a.m. and one at 10 a.m. The event is sponsored the Mesa Parks and Recreation department. Tickets are available here (or at the Mesa Amphitheatre Box Office) for $7.
