2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG® GT Roadster VS GT C Roadster

The Mercedes-Benz GT is one of the most popular Mercedes-Benz performance vehicles to ever come from the brand. When you combine this with the classic roadster style of the SL-Class, you get an amalgamation of performance and style that is unmatched by any other automaker in the industry. For 2018, there are two versions of the GT Roadster. The GT and the GT C may look identical, but there is a lot more than meets the eye. 

Both roadsters feature the 4.0L Hot Inside V Biturbo engine that we love from the GT Coupe. The difference between the two, is power output. The GT Roadster has 469 horsepower. This is more than enough to put you into an uncontrolled spin, but the GT C offers 550 horsepower that will melt you to your seat in the best way possible. The GT C is less powerful than the GT R, but the GT R is not available as a Roadster, giving the GT C a significant advantage.

Built For The Race Track

Getting away from the engine, the GT C has a few features that shift its focus from luxury to performance. First, it has bigger brakes and bigger wheels to compensate for the extra power. It also features a RACE transmission mode and full AMG® RIDE CONTROL Sport Suspension, allowing drivers of the GT C to customize their driving experience beyond the capabilities of the base GT Roadster. All of this power is then put through an electronic differential that is faster and smarter than the mechanical one you will find in the GT.  

When you put it all together, the GT C Roadster accelerates to 60 miles per hour .2 seconds faster than the GT Roadster and can go eight miles per hour faster overall.
